Custom surfboard designer and manufacturer, Tim Bessell, has perfectly married Warhol’s pop aesthetic with California’s retro beach culture in his surfboard collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation. Dubbed the “Artist Series,” these limited edition surfboards are decorated with some of Warhol’s most iconic images, including Marilyn Monroe, Mick Jagger, and of course, the Campbell’s Soup can.
These unique boards, which are only available at select times throughout the year, pay homage to Warhol as one of Bessell’s most coveted influencers. A native of La Jolla, California, Bessell actually shared a mutual friend with Warhol and fulfilled his dream of meeting his adolescent idol in person. The vibrancy of the 1960s and 70’s pairs so well with the classically cool symbolism of a surfboard. New York City art meets California cool with Bessell’s Warhol surfboards, now available at Revolver Gallery! Contact us to learn more.
