In 1982, New York City’s Second Avenue Court House was converted into the new home of the Anthology Film Archives. Warhol created the Eric Emerson (Chelsea Girls) print as part of a portfolio of thirteen works that celebrated the Archives new location. Actor Eric Emerson was a prominent feature throughout Warhol’s films and his social circle. The print translates Warhol’s Chelsea Girls movie into a still screenprint, offering a new and exciting artifact related to his most commercially successful film, which he created in 1966.
