Peter M. Brant

Peter Brant is found his fortune as a leading tycoon in the newsprint manufacturing industry, and is considered one of the world’s top 200 art collectors. In 1974, he commissioned and published Warhol’s two still life series, Flowers (Hand-Colored) and Flowers (Black and White), in collaboration with Castelli Graphics. Two years later, Brant commissioned Warhol to paint his pet cocker spaniel, Ginger. Currently, Brant owns about 200 different Warhol’s and began collecting the artists work in 1967. He is also on the board of The Andy Warhol Museum in Warhol’s hometown of Pittsburgh. Brant also helped produce Warhol’s film, Bad (1977), alongside Jed Johnson.
