Earlier this month, Christie’s auction house held its second all-Warhol sale with work supplied by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. The foundation sold off these artworks in its collection to help finance its grant-making fund. The winning bids raised a total of $1.84 million for 124 lots.
This offset lithograph titled “Marilyn Monroe I Love Your Kiss Forever Forever” raised $90,000, which far exceeded its expected amount of $5,000. It is a trial proof of a magazine called 1¢ Life which would later include text along the bottom of the page. We have the published limited edition print available for purchase on our website, but don’t worry it won’t break the bank, priced at $5,000.
