Beginning this summer, Toronto collectors, curators and art enthusiasts can view one of the world’s largest collections of original Andy Warhol prints and paintings. Located in Yorkville at 77 Bloor Street West, Andy Warhol Revisited: A Mirror For Today brings a museum quality exhibition to the city for a six month period and be open to the public daily from Wednesday, July 1 through to Thursday, December 31, 2015.
Curated by Los-Angeles based Revolver Gallery, ‘Andy Warhol Revisited: A Mirror For Today’ will feature a selection of Warhol’s most recognizable pieces including portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Mick Jagger, as well as the artist’s iconic Campbell’s Soup Cans. With over 120 prints and paintings on view from Revolver Gallery’s prominent collection, the exhibition will also include artwork from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc., Christie’s Auction House, and distinguished museum and private collections.

‘Warhol Revisited: A Mirror For Today’ will provide an engaging and educational walkthrough of the development of Warhol’s artistic language and its greater effect on culture – an effect, which has echoed for decades. More than just an art exhibit, curating of the exhibition will be done in a way that is both thematic, and chronological in order to contextualize the artist’s trajectory and societal impact through educational materials, activated spaces, audio tours, interactive mobile apps, innovative programming, and special events.
Additionally, ‘Andy Warhol Revisited: A Mirror For Today’ will incorporate unique details of The Factory, which was Andy Warhol’s main art studio in New York City between 1962 and 1984. Elevated with the aesthetic sensibilities of award winning, Toronto-based designer, Anwar Mekhayech of DesignAgency, the exhibit will be a multi-level showcase of art, design and interactive elements that will encourage visitors to not only see the art, but to experience it as well. The gallery will embody a modern day extension of Warhol’s idea that pop art is for everyone.
Admission to ‘Andy Warhol Revisited: A Mirror For Today’ is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors (65+), $5 for students (full-time with ID) and youth (6 to 17), kids (under 5) free and 20% off a group of 10 or more.
