Racolin Press (USA)

Racolin Press was a publishing house based in Briarcliff Manor, New York in the 20th century. They published artwork by several artists—including pop artist Robert Rauschenberg—but most notably Andy Warhol’s Flash series (sometimes titled November 22nd, 1963). Warhol created Flash in 1968; the series examines the assassination of John F. Kennedy through eleven different images from the news. Warhol was very interested in the Kennedy family due to their status and position at the intersection of fame, politics, and tragedy. The Flash series is often mentioned alongside Warhol’s Death and Disaster works, which comment on the constant violent images shown to consumers via the media.
