Museum of Contemporary Art LA

In 1983, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles published a book titled “Eight by Eight to Celebrate the Temporary Contemporary.” For his contribution to the publication, Warhol decided to draw inspiration from the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The piece he contributed, titled Sidewalk, keeps with Warhol’s fascination for fame and publicity but presents these ideas through a different kind of symbol.
